ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY

"Africa's Rhinos Paradise", that's how the Ziwa sanctuary is known. Originally, the Black rhinoceros and Northern white rhinoceros were indigenous to Uganda, unfortunately, due to poaching and mismanagement of their natural habitat, rhinos have been wiped out by 1982. The sanctuary puts all their efforts to provide a secure place to the highly endangered species and gradually works on the expansion of its population to be eventually re-introduced to the wild nature. As of 2010, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is the only location in Uganda, where rhinos can be observed in their natural habitat.

The gorge spreads over 11 km and it is an important part of the local wildlife, providing a source of water and shelter. Apart from chimps, many other monkeys can be seen as well as forest elephants and hippos in the river. This „underground forest“ is a bit of a challenge though, tracking chimps requires hiking up and down, the forest is dense and has a lot of wetlands and that is why it got its name in the first place – Kyambura means „got lost“ or „I couldn’t find it“. It goes without saying that following your guide is essential here.
As the Gorge is in Queen Elizabeth NP, the chimps tracking tours must be always connected to the visit of the safari. The tours start for 3 days.
KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK

In the far north of Uganda, at the borders with South Sudan, the warmest and driest part of the country, a gem of Kidepo Valley is hidden. Herds of buffalos, zebras and giraffes are roaming around, followed by sneaky cheetahs and leopards.

Due to the very remote location, Kidepo tours and game drives start from 4 days the shortest. Although going this far may seem a little bit stretched, you will be rewarded with a much less touristic experience of Uganda nature.
WHITE NILE RAFTING

The river Nile flows peacefully and calmly from Lake Victoria in Jinja. A bit more down the stream though, the situation changes. Rapids emerge, grow bigger, eventually making one of the finest grade 5 water rafting experiences.
Our trips start from 3-days due to its rather remote area.

KALAGALA FALLS AND THE BUGANDA CULTURE

Further down the stream of Nile, one can find the striking, yet a bit remote, Kalagala falls. They are told to be the strongest white rapids on the Nile (grade 6), offering a crazy experience of kayaking or rafting. On the way to Kalagala live many local communities of the Buganda kingdom, a place where many members of the community come to worship the Nile and the River God Mukasa. Have a look inside traditional houses, see how local pottery is made, eat with locals and join them in a dance. The music won’t let you sit still!

The Kalagala trip is usually for 1-day and in case the local community gets under your skin, you can stay as a volunteer in a local school.

TUBING ON NILE

Wanna enjoy the river Nile without the extreme dose of adrenaline on rafting? We have an alternative, try the tubes! It's fun, it's safe and it's chilled!

Tubing on the Nile is about 2-3 hours long experience and can be arranged during the day or even at the time of sunset. There is nothing better than chilling on a Nile, drinking the Nile Special lager.
PAINTING WITH LOCAL ARTISTS

Feeling artsy? One of the best ways how to fulfil your creative needs and meet with locals is through painting! You can paint one of the "Ugandan classics" like a sunset on the river Nile, giraffes on a safari or Masayi warriors or just use your imagination and show local painters what's in you.

Painting is usually done in Jinja and takes about 3-4 hours. You can either keep the painting that you make as a souvenir or leave it with the community - the painters will sell it (or at least try to - depending on your skills) and share the profit amongst them.

VOLUNTEER WITH US!

Uganda is a beatiful country with beautiful people, however, that won't change the fact that a large share of our people live in poverty - a poverty that is hard to escape. That is why our tour company always gives back! In cooperation with our NGO "Hope for Children and Youth Uganda", we supply food to the poorest, help with their medical bills and teach kids in the most remote areas. If your heart tells you that you want to join our efforts, do not hesitate, we can always use a helping hand.
